Service and maintenance.

All GGR vacuum lifters, overhang beams, robots and cranes, whether purchased by customers, or part of our hire fleet, are serviced and repaired to the highest standards in Europe.

Maintenance is carried out by our own highly experienced and qualified engineers. If repairs are necessary, only manufacturers’ genuine spare parts are used. When a thorough examination is carried out - as required by law - it is completed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s own examination scheme.

Our ‘in-house’ proof-testing facility enables GGR engineers to verify that each lifter will lift its certificated safe working load (SWL). Each is proof-tested to 150% of its SWL prior to dispatch. The test is recorded on the Report of Thorough Examination issued with the lifter.

In our experience, most suppliers carry out proof tests with the vacuum pads in the horizontal plane. We believe we are unique in also testing our lifters in the vertical position as this is the position in which most lifters will be used. This takes into account both the weight of the load and the friction between pad and load which can vary due to ageing, UV exposure, etc.
